Resort Will Spotlight Activity Offerings for Smarter Marketing
GOLDEN, COLO., FEB. 18, 2020 — Ascent360, a pioneer in customer database platform (CDP) technology for resorts and outdoor-recreation facilities, recently announced a new customer: Running Y Ranch Resort. Through this partnership, the resort will create personalized marketing through enhanced marketing insights.
Running Y Ranch Resort is a large, all-seasons resort in Klamath Falls, Oregon located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range. They offer a wide range of year-round activities, golfing; hiking and biking; ziplining; ice skating; and horseback riding. Amenities include a full-service restaurant; a sports and fitness center; a full-service spa; 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space; and Oregon’s only 18-hole, Arnold Palmer-designed golf course. Accommodations range from vacation rentals of chalets and townhome style homes to an 82-room lodge with Two Queen rooms, Single King rooms, and Full Suites.
Before using Ascent360, Running Y Ranch Resort’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Meredith Mackey, says their marketing was focused on lodging and golfing, and they “were missing a huge opportunity to showcase these other offerings that might attract a customer to our property.”
“While guests participate in activities and amenities,” says Mackey, “data about these activities — such as lodging, spa appointments and tee-time reservations — were all stored in separate software systems.” They chose Ascent360 to provide visibility into “the guest experience and strengthen long-term relationships,” she adds, since the CDP consolidates disparate information to create comprehensive customer profiles.
“The platform is surprisingly simple to use for smarter segmenting and engagement,” says Mackey. “Now we can reach out to people with offers and messages that are tailored to their interests, whether they’re golfers, horseback riders, hikers, families or business travelers.”
Using the CDP’s geo-targeting capabilities, Running Y Ranch Resort can also segment guests by ZIP code, separating out-of-town visitors from locals. This will allow them to send targeted, location-based campaigns, such as last-minute specials on golf for local visitors and lodging discounts for out-of-town guests.
According to Carlos Perez, chief revenue officer at Ascent360, this data-driven, personalized approach has driven repeat business for other resort customers.
“With Ascent360, clients such as Running Y Ranch Resort can quickly execute proven, automated marketing campaigns that reach the right customers at the right time,” says Perez. “This helps them engage smarter, profit faster and bring guests back year after year.”
